Wallsend, Waratah and Thornton - Jazz, Tap, Classical, Funk, Modern, Lyrical Contemporary, Cheer and In-School Dance Programs

Miss Cheryl brings over 49 years of experience in the performing arts industry, including 38 years of teaching a wide variety of dance styles such as Jazz, Tap, Classical, Funk, Modern, Lyrical Contemporary, and Cheer.

Throughout her career, Miss Cheryl has played a pivotal role in establishing dance programs at numerous Hunter region schools, including Maryland, Glendore, Waratah, Edgeworth Heights, Plattsburg and Nulkaba Public Schools. Also Our Lady of Victories Shortland, Wallsend High School (now Callaghan College Wallsend Campus), and St Pius X. She has choreographed over 200 pieces for the Hunter Region Dance Festival and designed and choreographed Rock Eisteddfods for Callaghan College Wallsend Campus and St Pius X.

Her teaching expertise is backed by qualifications from the Royal Academy of Dance London in Classical Ballet, DES Classical, and DES Character, as well as certifications in Zumba Fitness, Zumba Toning, and Zumbatomic. She also holds a current First Aid certificate and is pursuing additional qualifications in Pilates and Barre classes. Since 1987, Miss Cheryl has taught over 5,000 students and holds a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

In addition to running three academies, Miss Cheryl coordinates dance programs across four primary schools, providing students with high-quality choreography for various events, including CAPA performances, Hunter Region Dance Festivals, Starstruck, and school occasions such as Grandparents' Day, Education Week, NAIDOC Day, Book Week, and seasonal celebrations like Christmas and Easter.

Miss Cheryl is deeply passionate about sharing her love for dance, inspiring and empowering children to experience the joy and creativity it brings.
